Our published hours are Monday to Friday, 7 AM to 8 PM, and Saturday and Sunday, 10 AM to 5 PM. Plan around those. We do not advertise after-hours service, so if a gutter comes down at night, make the area safe with the steps below and call when we open. If the phone is not answered, use the form on this page and tell us what is hanging.
What counts as a gutter emergency?
An emergency is a gutter problem that can hurt someone or is letting water into the house right now. Most other gutter trouble is urgent or routine, and it can wait for the next open slot on the calendar. Here is how we sort it.
| What you see | How we rank it | What to do first |
|---|---|---|
| Gutter hanging over a door, driveway or walkway | Emergency | Keep people and cars clear. Do not pull on it. |
| Gutter or downspout touching a power or service line | Emergency, and a utility call first | Stay away. Call your electric utility, or 911 if it is sparking. |
| Water running into a wall, window or soffit during rain | Emergency | Protect the inside, catch the water, take photos. |
| Whole run on the ground, nothing left hanging | Urgent | Leave the pieces somewhere safe. Photograph them. |
| Section sagging or pulling off the fascia | Urgent | Stay out from under it. Call before the next rain. |
| Overflow at one corner in heavy rain | Usually routine | Often a clog. See downspout unclogging. |

Timing matters here because Austin rain comes in bursts. The City of Austin has recorded more than 5 inches falling in several hours, and May averages 5.13 inches in NOAA's 1991-2020 normals. With a run down, that water leaves the roof edge and drops straight at the slab.
Gutter fell off in a storm? What to do right now
- Stay off the ladder. Wet rungs, wind and a loose gutter are a bad mix. A hanging run can shift without warning.
- Look up before you walk under it. Check for wires touching the gutter or downspout. Treat any contact as live. Austin Energy takes downed line reports at 512-322-9100 and says to call 911 if the line is sparking. Outside its territory, call your own electric utility.
- Clear the drop zone. Move cars. Keep kids and pets away from that side of the house. Close the door under the damage if you can use another one.
- Photograph everything before it moves. Take wide shots and close shots. The Texas Department of Insurance (TDI) says to take pictures and video and not to throw anything away until your adjuster tells you.
- Stop water from the inside, not from the roof. Move furniture, put down towels and buckets. TDI expects homeowners to limit further damage, says a policy may pay for temporary repairs, and says to keep receipts for materials.
- Hold off on permanent repairs if you may file a claim. TDI warns an insurer might deny a claim if permanent repairs are made before it sees the damage.
- Call (208) 464-4195. Tell us what is hanging, how high it is and whether water is getting in.

How fast can emergency gutter service in Austin reach you?
Call and we will tell you honestly when a crew can get there. That is the only answer we give, because the real time changes with the day. These are the things that move it.
- The day's schedule. Booked jobs are already on the calendar, and after a big storm a lot of people call at once.
- Our hours. A call at 9 AM on a Tuesday has more room than a call at 4 PM on a Sunday.
- The drive. We work from South Austin. Buda is about 15 minutes and Leander about 45 in normal traffic, and traffic after a storm is not normal.
- The weather. Nobody should be on a ladder in lightning or high wind, so some work has to wait for the cell to pass.
Past customers have written about speed, and you can read their words below. Ryan D. described a quote the same day and the work the next day. Peter K. met with us on a Monday and had the repair done Tuesday. Those were their jobs on their weeks. They show how it has gone before, and they are not a promise for yours.
“Victor and his team did a great job on my gutter project. They came by the same day for a quote, provided the work the next day, completing the job on time and on schedule. Installed a new gutter, new downspout, and redirected a couple other gutters over to my rain barrels.”
“V&V was great to work with. I met with them on a Monday to discuss my project. They came the next day and did a perfect repair and install on my gutters.”
“…He responds to all your messages and solves your queries. I have talked with many other vendors before deciding to go with V&V. They were prompt on time, commitment and professional in their work.”
Why call V&V when a gutter comes down
Victor owns the company and his son Omar leads installs, so the call goes to people who know the schedule. Reviews name them both. Gautam T. wrote that Victor responds to messages, which counts when a run is hanging. Repairs and installs sit with one company, so a section past saving can be formed on site instead of waiting on a second contractor. You get a written quote before repair work starts, and it can go straight to your insurer. Vann S. wrote that the crew hauled off the old gutters and said to call with any issues.

What happens when a crew arrives
- Look it over from the ground first: wires, ladder footing, and what is still holding the gutter up.
- Make the loose run safe, which can mean securing it or taking it down.
- Check the fascia behind it, the hangers on either side, and how far the damage really runs. Measure linear feet and mark downspout locations.
- Give you a written quote before repair work starts.
- Do the repair, or book it if parts of the job need another visit. New runs are roll-formed on site and hung at a slope of about 1/4 to 1/2 inch per 10 feet.
- Walk it with you after cleanup and check where the downspouts discharge.

If the wood behind the gutter is soft, new hangers have nothing to grip. Fascia carpentry changes the job, so we will confirm that scope on the estimate. Read more on fascia and soffit repair.
What an urgent visit can and cannot cover
An urgent visit has two jobs: make the hazard safe, then scope the real repair.
- Securing a loose run, or taking it down
- Checking hangers, fascia and downspouts along the damaged side
- Repairing what the quote covers, when the visit allows
- Forming a new run on site where a section is past saving
- Hauling off damaged material once your insurer no longer needs it
Roof leaks, limbs on the house and anything near a power line need the right trade first.
What does urgent gutter repair cost?
We quote before we work. V&V has no published prices. The estimate is free, the quote is written and line-item, and you see the number before anyone starts the repair. Five things usually drive the number:
- How many linear feet came down or bent
- One story or two, and how hard the ladder setup is
- Whether the fascia needs work first
- How many downspouts need replacing
- Whether old material has to be hauled off
The awkward parts count too. A run tangled in a limb, a narrow side yard or a wall above a glass door all change how the ladder work goes, so mention them on the call.
For planning only, Angi's 2026 Austin figures list gutter labor at about $75 per hour and local seamless installs at $4 to $10 per linear foot on one page and $5 to $10 on another. Those are Angi's numbers for other jobs. They are not our pricing.
Storm gutter repair and your insurance claim
We can document the damage and quote the repair. We do not negotiate claims. TDI says a contractor cannot act as a public adjuster on a property it is working on, and that offering to waive, rebate or absorb your deductible is illegal in Texas. If someone at your door offers either one, take that as your answer about them. Your policy and your insurer decide what is covered, so ask them. See storm and hail gutter repair for the longer version.
City rules are simpler. Austin's Emergency Permits page says some repairs for homes and duplexes need no permit, and it does not mention gutters. Its permit line is 512-974-1500 in business hours. For storm-damaged trees, removal can come before the permit, with the request filed within seven days. Texas has no state gutter license, so verify insurance and references, even with a crew at your door. Outside Austin, check with your city.

Where we take urgent gutter calls
We work from South Austin, 78744, and our Google profile lists Austin, Pflugerville, Lago Vista, Georgetown, Leander, Buda, Kyle, Elgin, Cedar Park and Waco. Close runs such as Buda and Kyle are about 15 and 20 minutes in normal traffic. Pflugerville is about 30. If you are farther out, say so on the call and we will factor the drive into the time we give you.

Common questions
Do you answer emergency gutter calls overnight?
We have not published overnight service, so do not count on it. Our published hours are Monday to Friday, 7 AM to 8 PM, and Saturday and Sunday, 10 AM to 5 PM. If a gutter fails at night, keep everyone clear, photograph it and call when we open. If wires are involved, call your utility or 911 first.
My gutter is lying on the ground. Is that still urgent?
It is urgent, but less dangerous than one still hanging. Nothing can fall, so the risk moves to water. Without that run, roof water drops at the foundation, and on Austin clay that is the wrong place for it. Move the pieces somewhere safe, keep them if you may file a claim, and call before the next rain.
Can you give me an exact arrival time?
We give you the honest picture of the schedule when you call, and that may be a window rather than an exact time. A storm week can move it. One customer reported getting a notice from the office when installers were en route, so ask how you will hear from us on the day.
Is a leaking gutter an emergency?
Usually not. A drip at a corner or seam is a repair to book, not a reason to rush. It becomes urgent when water is running into a wall, a window frame or the soffit. Take a photo during the rain if you can do it safely, because leaks are hard to find once everything is dry.
Do you charge more for an urgent gutter call?
Ask when you call. The order of things does not change on an urgent job. We look at the damage, give you a written quote and start the repair after you approve it. The estimate itself is free, and you can take the quote to your insurer.
Will insurance pay for an emergency gutter repair?
That depends on your policy, and your insurer decides it. We do not. TDI says a policy may pay for temporary repairs, so keep receipts and photos, and it warns against permanent repairs before the insurer sees the damage. We can document what we find and quote the repair for you to submit.
Should I call if hail hit but nothing is leaking?
Yes, but book it as a normal estimate. Dented gutters are not an emergency when they still drain. Take photos soon after the storm and check your policy's deadlines with your insurer. On the visit we measure, look at the fascia and the downspouts, and put what we find in a written quote.
