Gutter Service in Buda, TX

Buda is a short hop from our South Austin base, about 15 minutes in normal traffic, and gutter service in Buda comes down to moving hard rain away from houses near two mapped creeks. We install, repair and clean gutters here, and the first look goes to the downspouts. Our Google profile lists Buda as a service area, and the estimate costs nothing.

From South Austin we reach Buda down I-35 and past the SH 45 toll loop. The census counted 15,108 residents in 2020, more than double the 7,295 of 2010, and the Census Bureau's estimate for July 2025 is 16,166, so growth has levelled off for now. Half the housing here dates from after about 2012, per census survey data. Water is the local story. Onion Creek runs through the northwest side, Garlic Creek joins it nearby, and FEMA flood maps mark special hazard areas along both. Gutters will not stop a creek. They do decide what your own roof adds to a wet yard.

Onion Creek, Garlic Creek and big rain on Hays County lots

On October 30 and 31, 2013, Buda's planning director reported 12 inches of rain in six hours, and flooding reached Onion Creek Village, Buda Elementary and the fire station. Hays County's yearly mean is 33.75 inches, so totals are not the problem. Bursts are. A clean 5-inch gutter can still overshoot when the rain comes that fast, and a clogged one spills everywhere.

Water leaves a downspout into a wet side yard shortly after a storm.

Trouble can be very local. The Hays Free Press reported in 2022 that some owners in one corner of Whispering Hollow, between FM 967 and FM 1626, dealt with constantly flooded backyards. Gutters alone do not cure that kind of problem. Still, on a tight lot, each downspout matters. We add discharge points before upsizing, at about one per 30 feet of gutter, and keep extensions from dumping onto a neighbor's fence line. FOX 7 has also reported on expansive clays and home movement in Buda, one more reason to land water 6 to 10 feet from the slab.

Trees split the town. Older streets near Main Street and the creek lines carry the canopy, while most streets built after 2012 are open, so one side needs cleaning and the other needs outlets. FEMA's preliminary 2022 panel shows Zone AE along both creeks, so ask the city before you trench a buried drain across a mapped lot.

Where Buda homeowners should spend first

  • Downspout unclogging

A blocked downspout dumps a whole roof section at one corner of an already wet lot. In Buda that can mean water sitting along a fence line until the next storm arrives.

  • More downspouts

Extra drops suit the fast storms that hit the Buda end of the I-35 corridor. We space them about every 30 feet of gutter and land them where a tight lot can take the water.

  • 6-inch gutters

For large roof planes where added downspouts still leave a run overshooting. Buda's 2013 storm brought a reported 12 inches in six hours, so outlets come first and size comes second.

  • Gutter cleaning

Twice a year as a baseline, and after any major storm that rolls up I-35. Homes under the older trees near Main Street and the creeks fill faster than open streets.

  • Storm repair

Secure bent or loose runs after a Hays County storm, before the next one. We document what we find, quote the repair in writing and check that each outlet still drains clear.

  • Gutter guards

Worth pricing where live oaks or pecans hang over a Buda roof near Onion Creek. A guard helps keep the outlet open in a burst, and it still needs a check after heavy storms.

  • Fascia and soffit repair

Older wood-frame homes near Main Street may need a fascia check before new metal goes up. Repeated overshoot rots that board, and we confirm the scope on the estimate.

Gutter service in Buda, fifteen minutes down I-35

Being this close means an estimate is an easy trip, but it is still your call when it happens. We can meet you at the house or start from measurements you send, then confirm them in person. We note linear feet, fascia condition and downspout locations, plus how your yard moves water. Next comes a written, line-item quote covering metal gauge, gutter size, color, downspouts and guards.

When you say go, we take down old gutters and haul them off if you are replacing them. Fresh .027 aluminum is formed on site to your exact lengths. Our office lets you know when the installers are on the way, and the job closes with a walkthrough and a discharge check.

“…From the initial quote to the final installation, everything was handled professionally and efficiently. The team showed up on time, explained what needed to be done, and worked quickly without cutting corners.”

Main Street, FM 967 and the 78610 ZIP code

Buda was platted on the rail line in 1881, and the gazebo on Main Street still marks its center. Every April the Lions Club wiener dog races bring in a crowd. Around that core spread neighborhoods like Garlic Creek, Sunfield, Stonefield and Leisurewoods, and big retail on the I-35 corridor. All of them are in reach. Older homes near Main Street may need a fascia check before new metal goes up.

City parks make good reference points: Garlic Creek Park on Heep Run, City Park on San Antonio Road and Historic Stagecoach Park, 51 acres on Main Street with two old farm structures. Buda's 2024 water plan says the city relies on the Edwards Aquifer and Canyon Lake and calls for more sources, including Alliance Water.

Check your local rules, because Austin's do not carry over. Neither its exempt-work list nor its wildfire code covers Buda, so ask the City of Buda or Hays County what your address needs, and ask your HOA about color.

Buda gutter questions

Will gutters keep my Buda yard from flooding?

They reduce what your roof adds, but they will not stop creek flooding or fix bad grading. Moving roof water to a better spot on the lot helps most on tight Buda lots. If your yard floods from a neighbor's slope or a drainage easement, ask the city or your HOA too. We will tell you what gutters can and cannot do.

Is a 6-inch gutter better than a 5-inch for Buda storms?

Not always. Add downspouts before assuming the gutter is too small. A 5-inch K-style with 3x4 downspouts handles most roofs. We move to 6-inch when a large roof plane still overshoots, or when valleys dump into a short run. The written quote explains which one we recommend for your roofline.

How often should gutters be cleaned on a Buda home?

Plan on at least twice a year and after major storms, which is the West Virginia University Extension baseline. Homes under live oaks or pecans near Onion Creek may need more. A clogged outlet matters most here, because heavy rain has nowhere to go. We clear gutters and check that every downspout runs freely.
