Gutter Service in Williamson County, TX

Williamson County gutters face two tests: hail along the I-35 corridor and a sharp change in ground from west to east. V&V Seamless Gutters reads both on the estimate, then writes a quote for the roof and lot in front of us. In normal traffic, Round Rock is about 30 minutes from our South Austin base, Georgetown about 40 and Liberty Hill about 50.

We cover Williamson County from our South Austin base. In normal traffic, Round Rock is about 30 minutes out, Cedar Park and Hutto about 35, Georgetown about 40, Leander and Taylor about 45, and Liberty Hill about 50. The Census Bureau estimates 752,827 residents as of July 2025, up from a 2020 base of 609,059, on about 1,116 square miles of land. Georgetown is the seat. Rapid growth means many gutters here are young, but one hail storm can age a whole street at once.

San Gabriel River, the escarpment and I-35 hail

The Handbook of Texas traces the Balcones Escarpment from Jarrell through Georgetown to Round Rock, dividing the county in two. To the west is hilly brushland averaging about 850 feet, with loamy soil over limey subsoil and post oak, live oak, mesquite and juniper. To the east is flat to gently rolling land averaging about 600 feet, on dark loamy to clayey blackland soil, much of it cleared for farming. The San Gabriel River drains the center and south.

Hail is the shared risk. On September 24, 2023, a supercell tracked along I-35 between Georgetown and north Austin, with stones up to 4 inches across in Round Rock. The National Weather Service estimated about $600 million in losses, split evenly between Williamson and Travis counties. Aluminum dents long before it stops carrying water, so dented does not always mean replace. Check seams, slope and fastening first.

Hail dents show on the face of a gutter, while seams and slope show whether it still works.

The housing is young. The Census Bureau's 2024 American Community Survey puts the county's median year built at 2008, and the 2025 population runs about 24 percent above the 2020 base. So the usual complaint here is not worn-out metal. It is a builder-grade run with too few downspouts, or a gutter that came through the 2023 storm with dents and loose hangers nobody checked.

Gutter services that fit Williamson County roofs

  • Storm and hail repair

Dented or loosened runs along the I-35 hail track, documented and quoted in writing. After a storm like September 2023, the first checks are corners, hangers and slope, since a dent alone may not stop the water.

  • New gutter installation

For newer homes in Leander, Liberty Hill and Hutto with partial gutters or none. The run is roll-formed at the house, so a long subdivision eave gets seams only at corners and end caps.

  • Downspout work

Longer discharge on blackland clay around Taylor and Hutto. Clay that reacts to water needs 6 to 10 feet of run from the foundation, and light soil in the southeast corner needs protection at the outlet.

  • Gutter guards

Less ladder time for homeowners under oak and cedar west of Georgetown. Metal mesh suits the juniper and post oak litter around Liberty Hill and Cedar Park, though guards cut cleaning rather than end it.

  • Gutter replacement

When hail crushed a run or opened its joints, a new run beats patching. On Round Rock and Georgetown homes from the 2000s, it is also the time to compare gauge against the builder's stock.

  • Fascia and soffit repair

Water behind a hail-loosened gutter soaks the board it hangs on. Have the fascia checked before a new run goes up on older Round Rock and Taylor homes, and confirm the scope on your quote.

From our Google reviews, on repair and install work:

“V&V was great to work with. I met with them on a Monday to discuss my project. They came the next day and did a perfect repair and install on my gutters.”
Peter K., Google review, April 2025
“…From the initial quote to the final installation, everything was handled professionally and efficiently. The team showed up on time, explained what needed to be done, and worked quickly without cutting corners.”
Avijit R., Google review, April 2025

How conditions shift from Liberty Hill to Taylor

  • West of the escarpment. Around Liberty Hill, Leander and Cedar Park, trees and brush shed into gutters, and rock near the surface limits how far a buried drain can go. Plan surface extensions early.
  • Along I-35. Round Rock and Georgetown sit close to the divide, so soil can change within a short drive. Older builder-grade runs and hail-worn gutters are the usual call.
  • East of the escarpment. Hutto and Taylor sit on open blackland, with less leaf load but more wind exposure and clay that reacts to water. Downspouts need 6 to 10 feet of discharge.
  • Southeast corner. The Handbook notes light soils with sandy surfaces over clayey subsoils, so discharge can wash out before it soaks in. A splash pad helps.

Lake Georgetown, Granger Lake and city utilities

The San Gabriel sets the county's map. The Army Corps of Engineers finished the dam at Lake Georgetown in 1979, on the North Fork about three miles west of town, and Granger Lake sits downstream to the east in farm country. County parks follow the water too, including Berry Springs Park near Georgetown.

Utilities change at the city line. Georgetown owns its electric utility and bills water and a stormwater drainage fee alongside it, so a drainage question inside the city goes to city staff.

Round Rock encourages rainwater collection, offers a rebate for it, and says an HOA cannot prohibit it under the Texas Property Code. If you want a barrel at a downspout, tell us at the estimate so the outlet lands in the right spot. Sun City, the 55-plus community in Georgetown, has its own HOA, so clear your gutter color there before you schedule.

Getting from South Austin to Georgetown and beyond

Most trips run up I-35 or SH 130, with US 183 for Cedar Park and Leander and US 79 or SH 29 for the east-west roads. At the estimate, we measure linear feet, check the fascia and mark downspout locations. The written quote lists gauge, size, color, downspout count and guards. After install, we clean up and check discharge at each downspout. Ask when you call how the drive fits the schedule, and we will give you a straight date.

Hail claims, HOAs and local checks

Georgetown, Leander and Cedar Park are listed service areas on our Google profile. After hail, we can document damage and quote repairs. We do not negotiate claims. The Texas Department of Insurance says it is illegal for a contractor to offer to waive or absorb your deductible, so walk away from that pitch. Many newer subdivisions have an HOA with color rules, and cities set their own permit rules, so check locally before work begins.

Williamson County gutter questions

Do hail dents mean my Williamson County gutters need replacing?

No, not always. Dents on aluminum can be cosmetic if slope, seams and fastening still hold. Replacement makes more sense when runs are crushed, joints have opened, or the gutter holds standing water. We check those points at the estimate and write up what we find, so you can show your adjuster or decide on your own.

Which parts of the county need the longest downspout extensions?

The blackland east of the Balcones Escarpment, around Hutto and Taylor, needs them most, because the clay shrinks and swells with moisture. We aim for 6 to 10 feet of discharge from the foundation and never less than 5. West of the escarpment, slope and rock often decide the route, so we look at the lot first.

Do you serve Georgetown as well as Round Rock?

Yes. Georgetown, Leander and Cedar Park are on our Google service area list, and Round Rock is about 30 minutes from South Austin in normal traffic. Georgetown is about 40. Taylor and Liberty Hill take a little longer, about 45 and 50 minutes. Call and we will tell you honestly when a crew can get there.
